Hey friends!
Welcome back to the blog! I’m back at it again with another review, and in this one, we’ll be looking at my new belt - the Shooter Belt from Deadly Customs Belt Builder service! You can check out my new set-up here.
The Ranger Green Shooter Belt from the Deadly Customs Belt Builder is a 2-belt set-up, that features an outer belt that is made from 2″ doubled-up MilSpec webbing which is rated up to 5500lbs, and an inner belt with loop velcro which you feed through your trouser belt loops as you would any normal belt. It also features a genuine 50mm AustriaAlpin Cobra Buckle that is rated for 2000 lbs! A cute little feature is that each belt has the DC skull logo on the buckle.
The belt is 50mm/2" in width and has 16 columns of MOLLE (on a size small, there will be more MOLLE columns on bigger sizes). The MOLLE loops run along the top and bottom of the outer belt and they're compatible with any MOLLE or PALS attachable pouches and holsters. The outer belt has a dual-layer construction to give it rigidity and this makes it one of the strongest in the UK. Every belt is also handmade in the UK, with no long wait times.
The way the belt works is - you run the inner belt through your trouser belt loops then place your outer belt with all your pouches, holsters etc already attached over the inner belt and fasten it with the cobra buckle. I love this style of belt because it means you don’t need to take off pouches or holsters when the belt comes off meaning you can just set it up and grab it when you need it, which makes getting ready for airsoft much easier.
The construction of the belt is sound - the webbing is MilSpec and the stitching is clean and neat. It is a lot more rigid than other Cobra Belts I have used in the past which means the belt doesn’t roll when taking mags/bangs out of pouches. Despite the rigidity, it is comfortable to wear. However due to the rigidity, I will say mid-ride and low-ride Safariland platforms can be a bit tricky to install, but with a bit of elbow grease, it goes on. The Ranger Green colour is a great match for my other RG pieces as well.
It is available in 7 different colours/camouflages including Ranger Green, Coyote Brown, MultiCam Black, MultiCam, Multicam Tropic, Black and Grey so there is a belt to suit pretty much any loadout you could imagine. It’s sized as follows: XSmall (26″–30″), Small (30″– 34″), Medium (34″–38″), Large (38″–42″), XLarge (42″ – 46″). I have a 29” waist and after trying the XS and S I opted for the small size so I had a little extra room in case of weight fluctuations (lockdown weight is REAL!). It is true to size.
So what about the price? The Shooters Belt retails for £79.99 from DC which is affordable for a Shooters Belt. Overall, it's a lightweight, low-profile, affordable option for airsofters. It is comfortable to wear, doesn't rub my hips and is endlessly customisable with pouches.
